Bit of testing this antenna today just strung a few feet high above the garden to check the length for my hanging points. Designed for ham 80-6m.
Working extremely well on ham and BC bands even at that height.
End fed Long Wire (NOT an End Fed Halfwave) with a 9:1 unun and a trap to electrically extend it to 80m
Hoping to get it hung a lot higher next week and hopefully have some fun

Can you share de diagram for that trap please…?
Hi. It’s a bought pre assembled antenna so I don’t know the trap spec.

I’m more like a low cost DIY Radio Operator, unfortunately my current economy wont allow much to buy expensive stuff and I try to do it with what I have or can recycle…
I got back on the radio hobby since the beginning of this year and for now I only have CB and Freeband capabilities coz I got my Ham licence cancelled some 40 years ago for lack of operation… Now I have to do it all over again from the start but I will get there, eventually… I’m thinking on making a EFHW multi-band antenna and i need a trap was useful for the 80 and 160 meters bands, mainly for reception for now, that’s why I asked…
Yes I get it. I too am back after 40 years. I’ve a few other cheap antenna projects I’m going to start but I wanted to try a wire antenna. I know it cost a bit more but It saved me a lot of time measuring, trimming and testing so that’s quite a bit of time on top of acquiring all the bits and I knew it would work straight away.
Going to experiment with simple dipoles and random long wires as I have a few decent lengths of cable I can string up when I have a bit more time.
This antenna is more like a quarter wave so it’s short with a 9:1 unun rather that the 49:1 on the EFHW. Works quite well despite that and will go to 6m at a push.
