The BBC are running some emergency broadcasts on short wave, directed at their potential Iranian listeners. Other comms like internet and phones have been blocked for some time.
Thought I’d have a listen but this sounds like jamming to me with the tone and the narrow bandwidth. Stations either side are clear. ![]()

That’s the worst jamming I’ve ever heard. Even China’s firedrake jammer uses traditional music to be annoying lol.

Yes. I’ve been thinking about it. I occasionally get noise interference and my noise floor was quite high on that band anyway. The fact that stations either side were clear suggested it was jamming, but it is a bit unusual.
I’ll try it again later if I get a minute.
For anybody else that might want to try the BBC notice on this shows the temporary schedule as 5935 Khz for the 4.30pm - 9465 at 6pm broadcast, quoting directly from the BBC website.
