CQ DX World Contest on the 40 Meters band

Short recording of the CQ DX World Contest at 7.140.500Mhz on the 40 Meters band happening this weekend on the Ham Bands… An interesting time to listen to Ham Radio operators making a radio contest…
Keep connected during this weekend on the major Ham Bands mainly 80 and 40 meters during night time (UTC) and higher frequency bands (20,15,12,10 meters), during the day time…
Enjoy and I hope that some SWL fans start thinking on taking their Ham Operator licences and explore the air waves also for transmission…

Well… I’m not a Ham Radio operator yet… I’m doing my exam during this Autumn. Only listen to the ham bands occasionally, I’m normally more on the 11 meters band…
Maybe next year we can have a QSO when I finally get a HF transceiver…

:smiling_face_with_sunglasses: I hope things like CQWW help motivate you to get your license! Good luck.
Of course once you get it there are plenty of different styles of operating you can try.
It’s a long time ago when I started on 11m but as soon as I got my ham license my 11m activity faded away. It just opened up so many different options with bands / modes etc.
I don’t compete on CQWW but do it for a bit of fun to see where I can get to. Keeps me busy playing radio for quite some time.
Yes. Hope we meet up on the radio some time. If not me, I’m sure you’ll make a lot of new friends
